Century Oak is a farm that has a long history of tobacco production. When my family and I moved to the farm in 1976, tobacco was our primary cash crop followed by the traditional corn and soybeans. Through the years we added sweet potatoes, cotton, cattle and a commercial pig nursery. Today, my parents continue to manage the pig nursery and cash rent much of the land. My husband and I have custom baled and produced coastal bermuda hay for over 20 years. It was in 2017, we decided to put cattle back on the farm and we have acquired a nice herd of Angus/Hereford cattle. The cattle we are developing for slaughter are raised on grass and but supplemented to develop the marbling and flavor we like in beef. We work with our cows in a low-stress manner to keep their anxiety level low. This helps keep them and us safe. It also helps with meat quality. Our cattle are slaughtered in a USDA inspected facility and vacuum packed. We are offering a variety of dry aged beef bundles, if you don't see one that meets your needs, let us know.
